His job was crucial to the success of the Allied forces. As a despatch rider, he was exposed to the dangers of war, but he was also a part of a larger team effort.

Don, a retired British Army officer, was deeply affected by his wartime experiences. He became involved with veterans groups after retiring and dedicated his time to helping other veterans. He is particularly known for his work with the British Normandy Memorial, a project that honors the sacrifices of those who fought in the D-Day landings.
