App Review: Toca Boca’s Toca House

Yesterday we talked about chores, routines and responsibilities for children.  Today I happened to come across this app by Toca Boca called Toca House.

The app is available for the iPhone and iPad.  It features 5 different characters and has 19 different mini-games within the application for children to play with.

What I liked about the app was the domestic theme of it.  Your child will help the character perform chores around the house.  You can wash windows, clean the floor, mow the lawn, etc.  These are things they see mommy and daddy do every day, so the theme is a familiar one to them.

Upon successful completion of the assigned chore, the child is greeted with some celebration music and a bright congratulatory graphic.  I know Carmen gets excited when she reaches these screens.  I am sure your child will as well.

The characters are cute.  The colors are very bright and pop nicely on the iPad screen.  The interface is pretty straight forward.  My daughter was a big fan of the Toca Hair Salon, so she loves the format Toca Boca has with their apps.

Toca House is available in the App Store for $1.99 and is compatible with both the iPhone and the iPad.
